The ARIDO Southern Ontario Chapter has dedicated its annual golf tournament to Vicki Woloschuk, a valuable and instrumental interior design member who passed in 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

The annual golf tournament is dedicated to raising funds for the Cancer Research Society in memory of Vicki and her contribution to the profession and the community. To date, the tournament has raised over $20,000 for the Cancer Research Society and hopes to break previous years’ records to raise money for a great cause.

Vicki Woloschuk
Vicki WoloschukMarch 15, 1958 – August 19, 2011

Vicki was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 15th, 1958. She graduated from Vincent Massey Collegiate. She obtained a Bachelor of Interior Design degree from the University of Manitoba and subsequently completed the National Council for Interior Designers Qualifications (NCIDQ) examination.

Vicki had a rewarding career in the interior design field. She worked in a variety of capacities in Winnipeg, including private design firms and the Palliser group of companies. After moving to Toronto in 1999, she worked for the Global Group in Training and Marketing. Vicki also served on the boards of the professional interior design associations in both Manitoba and Ontario, holding the position of President of the Professional Interior Designers in Manitoba (PIDIM) as well as President of the Southern Ontario Chapter of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO).

Vicki was an elegant, graceful, and dignified woman who will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew her. She was an avid reader and founded a book club in Winnipeg, which is still active today. She was also a member of a book club in Toronto and was the pioneer of the annual “Book Favourites” night held in the ARIDO Southern Ontario Chapter.

Vicki was a member of the SOC ARIDO Board for many years. She played all roles, from running the chapter as President, CEU Committee Chair, Secretary, and also offering her husband, Vince’s services as our Treasurer for the last few years. She was instrumental in creating new and innovative ideas and bringing them to our monthly meetings with an enthusiastic smile on her face. She was resourceful, organized and respected, and those attributes made her an asset to our team. Her strength, elegance and positive attitude made her more than just a colleague, but a true friend to us all.

During her battle with cancer, she still arrived every month at chapter meetings to offer her expertise, and was instrumental in organizing our inaugural Golf Tournament in 2009. Although many members felt this may be a daunting task, she was a driving factor in showing us that it was achievable, and she was prepared with a list of things to do to begin organizing the event and made “Tees for Two” Golf Tournament an instant success.

We are proud to rename our annual tournament in Vicki’s honor and know her legacy will not only live in the many hearts she touched.
