ARIDO Members are invited to the 2017 Annual General Meeting at the Westin Harbour Castle. This year's venue is the biggest yet, and, best of all, attendance is completely FREE.

Two speaker sessions have been booked for the Ontario Summit, presented by Nicholas Sylvestre-Williams and Leszek Muniak, in addition to the awards presentations and the Town Hall meeting. Full details listed below.

Presentation: Why Good Acoustic Design Matters Today and Will Matter Even More in the Future

Upcoming proposed changes to the National Building Code (NBC) will eventually change the way builders construct homes. The government is looking at a new rating to address “flanking” noise called Apparent Sound Transmission Class (ASTC). Learn about these proposed changes and anticipated impact on Ontario Building Code.

The Building Code Tutor Presentation: Flame Spread Ratings and Smoke Classification for Interior Finishes

Developed by Canada’s foremost building code and fire protection consultant Leszek Muniak, The Building Code Tutor is a new, web-based instructional program that provides practical and interactive training in the fire and life safety requirements of Part 3 of the building codes used across Canada.

In this exclusive presentation for ARIDO members, Les will walk you through one of the lesson modules from the Building Code Tutor interactive program, discussing flame spread ratings and smoke developed classification, how these impact interior finishes, skylights, light diffusers and lenses, plumbing fixtures, walkways and elevator cars.
